Flying Dog Hostel

by Captain Bill

I had this informative email exchange with a nice couple of tourists.

I asked, “Let me know how the Flying Dog works out for you. I would like for someone that has stayed there, (one of you?) to write a review about the Flying Dog for my Captain’s Blog.”

Here it is, with a nice compliment for my friend Gart and the San Pedro Lodge, a recommendation for the Flying Dog and a negative comment about the “snake sanctuary”

Hi Bill,

you were right, we had a great time with Gart at San Pedro Lodge!

With regards to the Flying Dog Hostel – it cost us 90 soles per night for a private room with bathroom and air con. It was very clean and the staff were very polite and helpful and all spoke good english. They had a large fully equipped kitchen and a tv available for guests to use. Also they had a chill out area with a couple of hammocks. I thought the location was very good as well. I would definitely recommend it. The only black mark I’d give them is that when recommending things for us to do they recommended the snake ‘sanctuary’ which I’m sure you already know is nothing of the sort, so that was a disappointment especially as when we arrived to the ‘sanctuary’ we were made to pay before we realized what kind of place it was so unfortunately that will go down as irresponsible tourism on our behalf!

cheers,

Andy
