I’m wishing you a Happy, Healthy New Year.
Some wise person said, “The days go slow but the years go fast…We got things right from time to time…We got things wrong…but that’s no crime…We always tried to do right…”
I’m going to remember 2010 as the year Marmelita and I were married. We opened the Dawn on the Amazon Café. Dawn on the Amazon Tours and Cruises had it’s most prosperous year. I was sick most of the year, and hospitalized for 10 days. I was cured, and healed.
The best part of 2010 was Marmelita loved me and I loved her.
If Marmelita loves me, and I love her, and if I can stay healthy most of the time, I expect 2011 will be one of my best years. Whether I am healthy or not, it can be another precious year. They all are.
The Captain’s Blog suffers when I suffer. I only published 75 articles in 2010 because I was sick too often. The first full year for the Captain’s Blog was 2007, and I only published 47 articles because I was just learning about blogging. In 2008 I published 87 articles. In 2009 I published 111 articles.
In spite of publishing fewer articles, according to Google Analytics there were 186,193 page views on the Captain’s Blog, up 60,398 from last year. Because I don’t allow advertising, AdSense, or pay per click, the total numbers aren’t real important to me. I’m more interested to know that 37,383 of you found enough value, or liked what you read enough to come back for more. That is 12,705 more readers coming back again than returned last year. Thank you for caring. You are very important to me. I hope to deliver more value next year so stay tuned.
The most popular article two years in a row is The Top 10 Things to do in Iquitos Peru. In 2009 that article received 11,303 views. In 2010 the views more than doubled to 29,375.
Here are the nine other most popular articles in the top ten according to Google Analytics. Click the titles to go there.
Let’s start now to make 2011 one of our best years; hug the ones your with.
I’m wishing you a Happy Healthy New Year.
